The Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving disadvantaged members of the community.  Through its pro bono legal counsel, Legal Aid helps protect children, the elderly, and other vulnerable or under-protected people in legal disputes involving some of their most basic needs:  a safe home, enough food to eat, a quality education, and protection against exploitation and discrimination.  Through the Legal Aid pro bono program, Shareholder Scott Atherton recently successfully represented a mentally disabled public school student in a public accommodation discrimination case on a pro bono basis, and Scott was pleased to donate his resulting fee award to Legal Aid.  Associate Mia Williams is currently representing a disadvantaged single mother in a pro bono matter involving disputes over the ownership and sale of her home and hopes to secure a positive result for the client.  Shareholder Joe Galardi currently serves on Legal Aid’s Board of Directors and volunteers his time to raise money and awareness to help Legal Aid expand its reach within the community.

The firm is proud to donate its time as pro bono counsel and serve as a sponsor of Legal Aid’s 32nd Annual Pro Bono Recognition Evening which will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the Palm Beach County Convention Center.  For those who are able, please consider attending this event or making a contribution to Legal Aid’s worthy cause.  More information about how you can support Legal Aid or participate in this event is available at:  https://legalaidpbc.org/2021/05/19/pbnight2021/
